File Names and Drawing Numbers

Listed below are the file naming standards, and descriptions for Pipeline CAD files. These file naming standards shall be used for all electronic files submitted to the District. All file names shall be in lower case only.

The District shall supply drawing numbers to be used for each project. Most projects utilize a "W" number, which is a four digit number assigned sequentially. The "W" number appears as the first five characters of the CAD file name, and also as the first six characters of the drawing number on the drawing border. Small sized drawings (11"x17") and Removed from Service drawings are assigned different numbers, depending on the type of drawing.
